What would I do?
As a certified Truck and Transport Mechanic (also known as a Truck and Coach Technician), you'll be responsible for repairing and maintaining all commercial trucks and truck-tractors. You'll ensure that the equipment is safe and in good working order. This is vital because the safety of your co-workers and the public – as well as the company's profitability – all depend on your ability to keep things moving safely.
Only properly trained and qualified Truck and Transport Mechanics can inspect, test, diagnose and repair truck and truck-tractor engines and other key operating systems such as power trains, transmissions, braking systems, and fuel and electrical systems. That's why a Truck and Transport Mechanic should hold a provincial trade ticket, have good mechanical skills, and take note of all details to ensure that repairs are done right.
