How do I get to be a Shop Supervisor/Foreman?
Effective communication, leadership, organizational, planning and computer skills are required in addition to technical skills in one or more vehicle maintenance trades.
Generally speaking, Shop Supervisors/Foremen are trained, certified and experienced Truck and Coach Technicians, since many of the decisions that they have to make rely on technical knowledge and skills. Though not mandatory, courses focusing on effective business communication and/or supervision are helpful.
