Every good organization needs a leader to run the docks. To excel as a Dock Foreman/Supervisor, you'll have to apply everything you learned “working on the docks” in order to successfully oversee and run the dock and warehouse operations. So if you'd like to orchestrate everything that goes on at the docks, then perhaps a career as a Dock Foreman/Supervisor is the right one for you.

Where would I go from here?
As a Dock Foreman/Supervisor, you can move up into more senior management positions within the warehousing side of the trucking industry. Or, you may move sideways into other operations jobs, including Driving and Dispatch. Of course, additional education and/or training may be required for other positions.
