Where would I work?

Dispatchers have lots of job choices. In larger organizations, the dispatch function may be tailored to different company operations, such as local, long-haul or international. Dispatchers may also be hired to manage special load types, like bulk, liquid, temperature-controlled, heavy equipment hauling or petroleum.

You'll likely work a typical 8- to 10-hour industrial work day. However, some carriers operate around the clock, so shift work may be necessary.
